How The Lofi Playground looks after the information you share with us, whether you are browsing the label site or working in the artist portal.

01 — About us

Who we are

The Lofi Playground LLC (“The Lofi Playground,” “we,” or “us”) is an independent lofi music label. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit thelofiplayground.com or use our artist portal, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We use Google Analytics directly for optional measurement of the public homepage. We do not use Google Tag Manager or advertising or marketing tags on the site.

By using our website or portal, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

02 — What comes our way

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to give us and some technical information needed to provide and protect the services.

Information you give us

  • Account details: your first and last name, artist name, and email address. Your login provider handles authentication credentials; The Lofi Playground does not store your account password.
  • Profile details: your city and country, which you enter during onboarding. We do not show your city publicly or disclose where individual artists live.
  • Submissions and files: music links (such as private SoundCloud links), release details, cover art, stems, and promotional material you upload.
  • Agreements: copies of signed contracts we store in the portal for your records.
  • Messages: information you send us through portal messaging, email, or our contact forms. If you use the homepage contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to our inbox through Resend. The form handler does not store your message in the portal database, but copies may remain in our inbox and with email service providers.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, screen size, and language may be included in Google Analytics measurements from the homepage after consent.
  • Usage information: homepage visits and interactions are measured only after you accept analytics. Portal operations are recorded separately as needed to provide label services.
  • Network information: a visitor’s browser necessarily shares network information, such as an IP address, with services it connects to. Our contact endpoint also uses request IP addresses and email for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
  • Cookies and similar tools: see cookies and homepage analytics.

03 — The one opt-in

Cookies and homepage analytics

We use Google Analytics directly to understand visits and interactions on the public homepage. It runs for all visitors only after they explicitly accept analytics. No selection means no Google Analytics script or analytics requests. Google Analytics does not run on the artist portal, sign-in or sign-up pages, invitation pages, this privacy page, or missing pages.

After acceptance, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_LKETD5S3CG. Google receives usage and device/browser information and processes network information when your browser connects to its service. These requests are not anonymous simply because we omit names. The configured page information excludes query strings, fragments, and referring URLs. Google signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled. We do not use advertising or marketing tags.

Authentication services use browser storage for sign-in functionality. The portal also saves unfinished submission drafts in your browser so you can continue later. These portal functions are separate from the homepage analytics choice. Essential storage used for sign-in and security is distinct from optional analytics cookies.

You can change your choice using “Analytics settings” in the homepage footer. Withdrawing consent stops future collection and clears this tag’s accessible first-party cookies; it does not erase information already sent to Google. The browser may reload to stop a tag that has already loaded.

We store your choice and its expiry in this browser’s local storage for 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice lasts only for the current document. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending their lifetime on each visit. This is separate from the retention period of information already held by Google.

04 — Why we use it

How we use information

  • Run your portal account, review submissions, and manage releases.
  • Store agreements and assets so you and our team can access them.
  • Send account emails such as password resets, status updates, and team announcements.
  • Understand homepage visits and interactions, if you choose to allow analytics, so we can improve the site.
  • Keep the site secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Follow the law and enforce our agreements.

05 — With whom

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, login, email delivery, and analytics providers (including Google). They can use information only to provide services to us.
  • Distribution and streaming partners, when needed to release music you have agreed to release with us.
  • Legal and safety partners, when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • A new owner, if The Lofi Playground is sold or merged, under the same protections.

We use Replit for hosting and storage integration, Clerk for identity, Resend for email, and Google Analytics for consented homepage measurement. Uploaded portal files use private object storage. Staff access information needed to operate the label and respond to you; release and collaboration features can share relevant information with assigned artists. Information you provide is not necessarily visible only to you.

06 — Across borders

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our artists come from around the world. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

07 — How long

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is active. We keep agreements and release records as long as needed for our contracts, royalties, and legal obligations. The owner-provided retention statement for analytics data is 14 months in Google Analytics, after which it is deleted.

Account deletion includes database and identity cleanup and attempts to remove associated files; shared files and records may require separate handling. We cannot promise immediate deletion from all providers or backups.

08 — Your say

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your information or your account.
  • Get a copy of your information in a portable format.

Our site and portal are not meant for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
